Why did you join FFA?

FFA is a very well-known ideal in my family. Both my parents and sisters were involved in the Association and that led me to my sincere interest. I found that FFA provided to me with leadership skills, a love for agriculture, and everlasting friendships and memories.  Last year we had the theme Rockin' the Blue, Livin' the Legacy and I was so excited to find out when I was elected President that I am now a part of a bigger legacy... my dad and I are the first father-daughter team to serve the Association as President. My dad was President for the 50th year and I was elected at the 80th Convention.

 

What has been your most challenging FFA experience?

Throughout my high school FFA career, I served on three different officer teams and I had to learn to adapt to each different team and learn to work with different people every year in order to accomplish what was necessary.  This was challenging at times, but overall I believe it made me a better person because I learned the importance of accepting change.

Who has had the greatest impact on your life?

My mom:  She is the strongest person that I know and is never afraid to stand up for herself or what she believes in.  She pushes me to take every opportunity given and do my very best at all times.  No matter what, she always sticks by my side and I love her for that.

If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?

If I had a million dollars, I would first pay off my college loans, along with my sisters'.  Then I would use the money to buy some land and a nice house for my family.  After, I would pay off my family's houses and bills.  The little that remains, I would use to invest and save for the future for my children.

Final thought

I am so excited to be serving the Delaware FFA Association as State President.  I am looking forward to an eventful and exciting year ahead of us!
